Please help - is rust here normal?
Last weekend, I swapped out my summer wheels for winter wheels. When changing the rear's I noticed something that didn't look right. The wheel "hub" (not sure if this is the correct technical term) is rusted pretty good.
Is this normal? This is the first time I have removed these wheels since picking up the car last October from the dealer. Feedback GREATLY appreciated. Please let me know what you think. Cheers! Here is the damage: ![]() ![]() ![]() --Steve

Unfortunately totally normal. Just hit it with a wire wheel brush on your drill and apply some anti-seize before putting the wheels on.

Got it. Is there a specific product you can recommend or any product will do fine? Thanks for the great info.

OP completely normal, if it really bothers you, take a wire brush, clean it, mask it up and use some rust converter.
I have used this stuff on my cast iron gates, works beautifully http://store.interstateproducts.com/...FYqZ4AodAXUASw Wrong. Anti-seize is not effective at preventing rust.. this is cast iron. |
