Thumbs up -= CIC Navigation Retrofit and more =-

The complete solution to retrofit the latest Navigation system (CIC) in E9x and E6x vehicles.
Based exclusively on OEM parts and OEM activation.

The E60 Basic CIC Retrofit Kit (the E9x version includes the same parts):

####################################

Read it first:

I am proud to announce I am the only vendor offering the CIC Retrofit Kits based exclusively on OEM parts and OEM activation.
However, If you are thinking of working with somebody else who says that can do it for you please note that the installation of all parts in your car is just the first step to retrofit the CIC successfully.
The most important is to activate the Navigation and code the car in order to make sure that all modules can work with each other and with the CIC.
I have installed many CIC retrofits in cars produced from 2004 and there have been major differences in how these cars reacted to the CIC
and how they had to be coded and programmed in order to make sure that all car options were compatible with the CIC.

OEM Activation of the Navigation vs. Aftermarket module

The way I activation the Navigation and/or the Voice Control is fully OEM.
It means I buy special activation codes from BMW (VIN specific) and load them into the CIC as well as change the VIN in the CIC to match your VIN.
The cost of the codes is pretty high, so that's a reason why the complete OEM kit is more expensive than the aftermarket one.

If you find other people/companies offering cheaper CIC retrofit kits you might expect an aftermarket "activation" of the Navigation and Voice Control.

What does the aftermarket "activation" mean?
There is a module which can be installed in a car to tamper the communication between the CIC and the rest of the car.
The CIC includes the VIN of a car it comes from as well as the activation codes for that VIN, so if you buy a used CIC the VIN stored inside it does not match your VIN and the codes do not match your VIN either.
My OEM activation is to load your VIN and your codes (received from BMW AG) into the CIC the same way BMW does it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The aftermarket module:
I know there are people who always look for more affordable solution and I do not blame them for that, but before you decide to use an aftermarket solution just think about the consequences.
-> Do you really want to have an aftermarket hardware in your BMW?

-> The aftermarket solution is obviously not approved by BMW, because it is hacking of their system. You cannot be sure if there are any side effects and how your car will be running.

-> Think about updating the map - you will have to give your dealership the VIN of the car the CIC comes from. If the car is from Europe or some other region it might be difficult to order the US map.

-> What if BMW releases a new software version for your car that will make this module useless?

-> My DVD-in-motion activation does not tamper the speed read by the CIC, but the module does it. It means your CIC will "think" you drive very slowly all the time while you might be doing 80mph.
Your CIC should know your speed to calculate your position if there is no GPS signal.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

My experience is something you cannot underestimate, so please have a look at the below testimonials before you decide who you would like to work with:

####################################

The Basic CIC Retrofit Kit includes:
- CIC head unit
- CID High Definition screen
- iDrive controller
- CID power connector
- CID video cable
- CIC trim
- USB cable
- USB port
- Navigation FSC codes
- Navigation map
- Complete coding
- DVD-in-motion activated

It comes with the Navigation FSC codes loaded (navigation is fully activated) and the CIC is coded for the vehicle specification.
The Voice Control can also be activated, but it's not included in the basic kit.

E9x vehicles
If you already have the old Navigation installed in your car the basic kit is all you need. Optionally you can buy the center console trim if you want to fit the new iDrive controller, but the old one will work just fine.

If you do not have the Navigation system at all you will need to change your dashboard and a few other parts. Please contact me for more details.

E6x vehicles
For all E6x vehicles the basic kit is all you need.
Those of you without the old Navigation might also need one dashboard trim.

According to BMW cars produced before the CIC was introduced could not have the CIC installed.

So it's 2420 euro for the US spec? Does that come with the dvd in motion coding? If it does, I'll take it.

I have sold many CIC retrofit kits to the US and I have not heard about any taxes or customs fees that you would need to pay.

Does it come with instructions?
Are the US CICs the same as the Canadian ones?
My car is a Canadian model.

If you have the CCC Navigation the installation is a piece of cake. I can guide you over the phone.

The Canadian model has the US spec CIC. I sell the Euro spec CIC which has different HD Radio standard, so the HD Radio will not work in the US/Canada with the Euro spec CIC.
At the moment I have just one US spec CIC still available...

Please forgive the dumb question...

What is this "retrofitting"? My 08 M doesn't have navigation/iDrive (single hump). This is not something I could do, correct?

No, you can install the CIC, but will be more complicated.
In addition to the retrofit kit I sell you will also have to change your dashboard and a few other parts.

I have an 08 M3 produced in May 2008 but have already upgraded to the new Idrive controller and trim piece. So this would upgrade my unit to the 09+ Nav and all? I also have Sat Radio would this be included? What exactly all would this upgrade do for me? You mention coding; I assume the care would need that as well. The dealership would do it or would they refuse as it is a non-BMW approved retrofit as you mention...I have heard cases where dealerships will not do such jobs cause it is against BMWs policy/standards and installation service campaigns.

If you have the Sat radio module in your car then it will work fine with the CIC.
I offer a complete solution to retrofit the CIC, so all parts and coding are included.
After I code your CIC you will have a working CIC in your car and will not need to visit your dealership for any additional work.

Hey Patrys.
Will out on business for a few weeks but may try this retrofit when I get back in town. Please PM me a price to the US zip code 78253.

Would like a US CIC if possible but let me know what you have available. Also would like to use Paypal so let me know how that would work.

Thanks

Anymore US CIC in stock?
So bluetooth, sat radio, voice command all my other goodies will not be effected by the retrofit right? Just plug and play and all my other systems will work just like before.

No more US spec CIC

The Voice Control is different than the one you have in the CCC and it's 500Euro extra.

Patrys, I'm curious what type of system retrofits may be available for US Z4 e89s? My other question is do you retrofit CIC cars without a NAV unit and/or Premium Audio System?

I did some research to find out a little about the differences between a CCC and CIC system, so I would assume that all e89 Z4s, which started production in 2009 have the CIC system. Is this correct?

The one thing I didn't see in the kit you show above is the iDrive control. Does your retrofit kit include one of those. As I'm sure you probably know, the Z4 has a robotized lid that pops up - what about that? This all seems pretty complicated to retrofit so I wonder if it's even feasible without having to re-wire the car?

Thanks
