X-pipe pairing question

Before I attacked for asking another exhaust question, I'm going to say that I have searched. I just ordered a Megan racing exhaust and I have looked for a complimenting x-pipe to go with it. I've seen that some people have paired it with a "street pipe" but I'm looking to delete the primary cats. So what I'm asking is does anyone have any recommendations?

Street + test pipes or would going for a strait race pipe with cat delete a better option

depends on the sound that you want and if you want to deal with the CEL. If you want to avoid the CEL the best option is the Challange Street Pipe or Test pipe (both require cutting the OEM Mid Pipe). If you are gonna tune or take care of the CEL then any HFC or Catless Xpipe should give you a great sound and more power.

I personally don't think that the Megan exhaust sounds good with a full cat delete. I also don't like the smell. I would opt for HFC (much less smell and virtually no difference in power) and resonators to reduce rasp.

I would run a midpipe with 4 resonators like the Dinan or Borla, or any other with added resonators.

+1. I keep coming back to the idea of pairing my Megan with the Borla quad resonated.

I was thinking about a quad resonated with primary cat delete. But I've looked on a lot if different websites and besides for the gintani couldn't find one

you can always just buy the one w/ 2 and add 2 more if you like later on. Def use resonators though as they really do reduce the rasp almost 95% and sound much cleaner IMO

Definitely get at least a pair of resonators on the x pipe to kill the rasp, unless you like rasp that is.

You can have two resonators and secondary cats, which is about the same in terms of noise but a little less power. I have never seen quad resonators and secondary cats.

If your getting ride of the primary cats what's the point of keeping the secondary ones? If they just cause you to lose power...

+1, just get some test pipes. As far as power goes, test pipes have been shown to give essentially the same power gains as full catless systems costing 2K+ and you have no rasp and very little smell.

If I were to do it again, I'd pick up a used OEM x-pipe and some test pipes (~$750), get a tune for the CEL, and call it a day. The OEM x-pipe flows fine and makes great power without the primaries.

Is there a big difference between the turner test pipes (still in production?) and the macht schnell test pipes?

I got the exhaust off eBay. From
Custom.performance.parts
It was the cheapest I could find with the titanium tips.

I aswell went through this last two weeks. turner test pipes show 28 hp on dyno and 40hp at wheel with their catless tune. But catless xpipes, show around 14-18 hp gain at the wheels? whats the deal? Unless i'm getting my facts mixed up
additionally, full akrapovic exhaust with hfc xpipe only produces 22 wheel hp.

Deleting the primary cats, no matter which method (TTPs, primary cat delete x pipe, Akra, etc), will yield pretty much the same results that will only vary by the dyno and conditions the day the dyno is done.
