Difference in quality between an OEM performance spoiler and JB speed perf Spoiler

I'm thinking of purchasing an OEM Perf spoiler or saving $200 on a JB speed or ESC tuning spoiler but I want to make sure the quality/CF weave/durability/longevity is still there. Any have an aftermarket perf CF spoiler and love it?

Apologize if this is a repost. Still new to the site.

Got one off eBay for my e90. Forgot the seller but it was shipped from Cali. Saved about 300 off oem. Quality was good very similar to the oem one. Fitment was about 95% there. You really have to get real close to see the slight issue on the tip of the spoiler. I think it really depends how particular you are about your car.

I can only speak from my expierience I had with JBSpeed.

I have bought for all my performance car's various carbon fiber part's from JBSpeed. First I was very careful and didn't trust an aftermarket vendor to come up with OEM-like part's and have superfast shipping but JBSpeed proofed me wrong in all instances. I even went to the dealer to compare the spoiler on a lot....didn't found any differences!
That's how good his rear wing was!

I am a very pickey person but his product's IMO were A+ be it fitment, quality, or durability-wise.

Would like to hear some other ECS and JBSpeed reviews as well. It seems they are few and far between.

I have an oem one but have seen a bunch of aftermarket cf ones.

The aftermarket ones can be all over in quality. In addition to fitment, always look at weave. Lots of wavy weaves in the cheaper aftermarket stuff vs nice straight lines with the oem and quality aftermarket stuff.

Sold. Thanks!

For 180 or 200, it's a no-brainer at half the price.

I have the JBspeed spoiler and splitters. They're legit and the quality is great. I scrape the hell out of the splitters so no reason to get the OEM ones for this price.

It's a little odd there aren't that many reviews. Guess you have to did a little digging.

Did you use betalink or double sided tape to adhere?

Some good 3m double sided tape. Beta link is great too, pricey and permanent though.

I had no choice but to get aftermarket spoiler for my e93 since BMW doesn't make them

I know a lot of new owners wonder what the best solution is for that ugly e93 trunk with no spoiler. I went for JL motoring CF Performance style spoiler for the e93 and I'm very happy with it. I'll be honest, it's never going to be good as the OEM in terms of fitment and weave but it's 95% the same. If you don't think getting that extra 5% is worth the $300+ you're saving, then by all means get the OEM. I also just recently purchased CF splitters from JB speed and again 95% fitment and quality. But luckily they supplied black tape to cover it up. I wouldn't cheap out on certain mods, but for purely cosmetic items that are already overpriced, I would not get OEM. You will also never be able to tell when looking at the car.

Here is a pic of my spoiler

I recommend 3M tape with 3M adhesive promoter wipes 06396 prior to application.

For a measley $200 extra you can have an OEM one. No brainer.

If your replica one doesn't work out for whatever reason go w the OEM one.

mostly fitment would be the greatest concern. But JBSpeed is pretty consistent and reputable so, I wouldn't be concerned, I'm sure others who've purchased it can chime in.

The knockoffs I would be concerned about would be the ebay sellers from Taiwan and such...I've seen some of those, fitment for those are way off sometimes.

Keep in mind, it's a piece that people are going to notice more than the cf roof since it is about waist level and easily visible. Oem quality is top notch.

Love my OEM M Performance spoiler, it looks fantastic. Wasn't concerned about the price so much as making sure it fit perfectly.
