- BimmerWorld - E9X M3 Longtube Tri-Y Headers and X-Pipe

It used to be that a simple header-back exhaust system was an easy way to free up more horsepower on BMWs. “Easy” no longer describes the process, unfortunately, but there’s still power to be found with proper engineering. It took a couple years of development and our collective racing experience, but our BimmerWorld Longtube Tri-Y Headers produce the power and create an unmatched exotic exhaust note.

After several years of design and testing, we've managed to extract some good power from stock engines and even more in stroker and supercharged applications with our true equal-length headers. We've also put some pressure on our manufacturer and there are some BIG price changes in the right direction (down!)...

E9X M3s in particular come with good headers from the factory, so quality headers are difficult to make for the S65. Our Tri-Y setup costs more to produce, but it’s the only design that works at increasing horsepower and maintaining good torque. We even bought and tested incredibly expensive 4-into-1 headers, but our Tri-Y equal length headers produce more power

These are true equal-length headers, so you get impressive power and an outstanding exhaust sound (see video at bottom of post).

Click HERE or on any of the images for more information, including dyno charts.

To maximize gains further, we also have our E9X M3 X-Pipe, available with GREEN 300-cell catalytic converters or as a straight racing pipe with no cats. We utilized the superior design from our E92 M3 race car, as it maximizes both flow and scavenging effect. The X portion is positioned for optimized power output and is tucked tight to the chassis for maximum ground clearance. NOTE: X-Pipe does not bolt onto stock headers as these are designed to work in conjunction with our Tri-Y stepped headers.

We were recently able to bring the price on our Longtube Tri-Y headers down by $600:

X-Pipe is here:

We have a couple of different options for the axle-back section, with our new BimmerWorld/Magnaflow race section being a bargain compared to anything else on the market - and it's under 30 pounds:

Jonathan-what sort of gains should I expect over a 100% stock M3 with your headers and your Xpipe with the 300 CEL primary cats? I'm interested in running these with my Harrop kit. Thanks.

The dyno chart below represents our test car going from stock with an aftermarket muffler (the same muffler used on all tests) to our non-cat version of the X-Pipe with Epic Motorsports tune to adding our headers. The 300-cell catalytic converters didn't affect power in these tests, as the diameter is large enough, even with the cats, that there is plenty of flow capacity and no additional restriction.
