Strange that only one of the pair of spokes would crack. Good to hear the dealer is taking care of it. Even better that you discovered it early on.

An E93 is going to put 12-15% more load on a wheel than an E90/E92, which doesn't help either

The dealer confirmed no damage to the wheel that would have caused the crack, so BMW USA approved a replacement under warranty. Apparently this is rare enough that they said a) they "haven't seen this happen before," and b) asked for the wheel to be sent to them so they can investigate.

I swear BMW dealerships have never "seen that problem before".

Stuff happens. BMW stepped up and took care of the problem. This is why I am a big advocate for steel wheels. Just beat that bitch back into shape!

Looks to me like a "hairline crack" I would go directly to BMW and ask them to replace the wheel. This is a clear manufacturing defect. I had the 220m wheels on all my M3's (except for my last one) including the winter wheel tire set ups. Never had any issues, also yours is the first I've heard about.

PS. I had 2 rear wheels crack on me on the Z4 I drove, the wheel style was BMW 296, mine were not the only ones. Then that's another story

EDIT ---> Oh I see BMW took care of you ... Good stuff
