Texas World Speedway - 10/13-10/14 - Driver's Edge with a HANS device

Another great weekend at the track! Driver's Edge has a bunch of pretty cool guys to drive with.

Best lap was 1:58:32. Consistently around 2:00-2:02 with traffic. When it was dry, it was tough to get a clean lap. Got plenty of clean wet and damp laps Sun morning!

First weekend with a HANS. You definitely use your mirrors to blend. It does limit your head's range of motion but I never felt the straps tug while on track. There is an adjustment but I got used to it by the end of the first day. Now there is no more jumping into the car and getting on track. Takes some time to get in so make sure you turn on your cameras before you strap in. I couldn't reach far enough to get my gloves from the pass seat. Sometimes the HANS would make getting out of the car a little ungraceful.

Overall, I can definitely see the benefit of wearing a HANS for an intermediate or advanced driver.
