Atco 1/4 mile Private Rental

Atco Raceway
October 18th, 2012
DA- ranged from 0-800+

A few of us gathered for some 1/4mile fun. Had some good heads up in the afternoon but both my GoPro batteries died at that point. I gave some useful tips to my fellow DCT owners on how to use launch control. I think many of you realize that drag radials and linelock are needed if you want to be competitive. A full second in ET can be lost with the DCT tranny otherwise. The Benz crowd ran some impressive numbers. A few of the bikes were running in the 9's and one Busa running 8.1 at 185mph! One sick CTS V built by ACM running low 11's at 135mph on street tires and 1.9 60fts. IMO - thats a 9 second car when setup. A few N54 cars running impressive along with a GTR and 911 Turbo S PDK running mid 10's. All in all....its was good clean fun and we all made it home. I'll post some video links and add some pics later on. My apologies if i missed any cars. It was hours of video between my SLR and two GoPros that i quickly went through last night. Hats off to Izzy for taking some pics and video. Enjoy....
My best of the day 11.073 at 125.6mph 1.770 60ft

Scott you have that DCT launch down like noone else!!! Insane. I was always scared of using the LC with radials and the blower because I didnt want to risk it slipping.....these trannys are alot stronger than I originally thought!

Looks like it was a great time, wish I could have made it. Better DA/conditions you guys will be in the 10's and trapping 130+.

Akash what was your best trap? I saw one run you did 118 in that vid

Scott -

You pulled nicely on that Black VT535, imagine how much more if you took it to 150ish.

Looks like Akash AA Stage 2, got a bad start when you went head to head with him so not a ideal race there, but what were the results on those runs, the slip info?

My best run (car3). Some notable runs..... Car 2(M33 ESS650) and Car7(LostMarine ESS535). Zim and I had a very close run towards the end. Wish i got that on film. Very impressed with Steve's run. 11.36 in his 535 beats my old records for non intercooled. Well done!

Andrew what I dont understand is how the ESS cars could possibly have performed better than the AA car with its extra
"70-80% torque/horsepower advantage" under the curve?

After all is said and done (and after all the countless bullshit dynograph overlays and thread arguments after the vt1-535 vs aa st2 video), the truth comes out in the real world at the same track, same time, same day. There is no advantage whatsoever to running that hks blower, its actually 100% detrimental to your times as clearly depicted from the results from ALL the ESS cars yesterday.

Refer to the slips and videos above (instead of those fabricated graphs) for factual data.

Not really looking to get it into this drama today.... I will say I do not see any evidence besides some bad runs to prove your point.

Besides I will never be able to change your mind so its not really worth my time or yours.

Agreed impressive times and traps for that DA, all around. So who trapped higher? AK (Stage 2 AA) or Steve (VT535) ?

Btw Rick i have idle control valve issue as VAC can attest to. I went to them before the rental thinking it was my 02 sensors going bad because i had a increased emission light come on. My car ran what it ran yesterday but as scott and Zim can deff attest to is i didn't run my car like i have at the other rentals we have had.

Congrats to Scott ,Sal ,and Zim for running good times.

How did I guess this would come up! Akash is a friend and I'm not bashing him or his car. He could have made dozens of passes that day and he would of never have made a pass in the low elevens....no DR's or launch control used. He told me he's not into 1/4 mile running anymore and that's fine....different strokes for different folks. All i know is I'll accept any challenge from any VF, gintani or AA car. No internal mods or NOS allowed. It's a drivers race. Perfectly example was my run against Steve's 535. That was close in my book and I've got 100crank hp on him

What tires were you running Akash? Looks like everyone else had on slicks but its hard to tell from the video.

Edit: 1sickM answered my question.

What a great event! Looks like everyone had a blast at the track and most of all, came home safely!

It must be such a rush to run down that track at such fast speeds and quick times.

What is very interesting is seeing how the VT1-535 stacks up against the VT2-625 and VT2-650. You can clearly see how the VT2 kits really just start to pull away as speeds climb higher and higher. In addition, you can see how the driver and obviously launch make a huge difference in results.

1SICKM...you seriously know how to launch these cars! Very impressive! :EDIT: Don't get a VT3-7XX because you might end up in space....

Great video coverage! Hopefully we can see more of this friendly competition in the future.
