Pagids vrs Performance Friction
Looking at either the Pagid Yellows or the PF01s for my ST60 BBK that I will install shortly.
I've had a lot of experience with the PF01s and do like them. I do wonder if the Pagid yellows provide the same bite and heat capacity as the PF01s while minimizing the noise. I've found that my rotors will be unservicable from heat cracking long before I reach min thickness. So I don't think accelerated wear from daily driving on a track pad will matter much. Opinions?

I believe that the yellows will have less bite than 01's (prob the same or similar amount to
08/06 PFC). I like PFC a lot and stick with them because they've always done well for me. Yellows are an endurance compound like 06/08. I think Pagid makes Orange/Black pads that are more similar to 01.

The st60's have ridiculous stopping power so don't be so quick to jump to a pfc01. I run the pfc06's in mine and they still have too much bite in my opinion.
I've never done any back to back comparisons of the pads you mentioned so can't comment on the torque or heat capacity but can venture a guess that they will all squeal like pigs on the street. ![]() |

Hmm...good point. Luckily I just invested in a HANS!
I guess I've heard and seen mixed reviews with the Pagid yellows as far as noise. I've seen and heard some with the garbage truck sound...others seem pretty quiet.

Rotor wear is minimal so that's not an issue, but personally could not use the yellows for long term daily driving.

I use the PF-08s all around. put them on in Aug for VIR, they have been on the car since then. they squeak like crazy, very embarrassing on the street. they squeak at the track as well but once you hit them hard couple times the squeak goes away. I used them last weekend on Summit Point, and will keep them on until i finish the November 12-13 VIR event. The stopping power is amazing but if you want to keep them on the street, you could use a set of earplugs

Pagid yellows in BBK here - silent for the first 4 months and 5,000 miles and over a dozen of track days. Now they make slight noise. I can only hear them with windows down though. I think re-applying the anti-squeal compound would silence them again, but I'm too lazy to try.

I think the 01 is more like a sprint pad with med-high braking torque (more of a RS 14 black), where as Pagid RS 19/29 yellows are endurance pads with medium braking torque.

OK...I think I'll stick with the 01s or 06s. They've served me well so far, why change? I just need to stop being lazy and swap pads.

I hate swapping pads (OEM calipers) but hate squealing even more. I had the 06's on track/street for almost a month and the squealing was louder than I could bear. I then switched to Hawk HPS but they only lasted 3 track days before the fronts gave up. I'm now running PFC Z-rated pads and found that they held up quite well on the track and are also quiet on the street. If you don't mind swapping pads, then that's the best of both worlds.

I've tried the stoptech pads (similar to the Z-rated) and they just don't cut it. So I'm will continue to swap pads...in fact I have to swap my pads tonight and I'm feeling pretty lazy right now. I'm thinking, "my street pads should be OK...maybe?".

Overall they've been great and have certainly held up better than the StopTech Street Performance pads that shipped with the kit. I'll put a set of the Street Perf pads back in for wintertime. Noise when cold is there, but not absolutely horrible. It's most pronounced when backing up and then braking, such as in a parking lot. You know--when you're going the slowest and people can really glare at you... ![]()
