The CEL can be coded out but the car will not pass the "sniffer" emissions testing if you have it, nor will it pass a visual inspection if someone looks under the car.

Well I have to get registered in Oregon soon anyhow, since I moved over from Washington. Guess I can do it after the DEQ visit. Also, from what I just read they do ODB tests so I'm guessing it could potentially pass in the future if it's been coded out. Granted they don't go snooping around.
