Best Gasoline for your M3?

Somebody told me it was Shell 93, but there was no proof.. i just heard it.

What would the best Brand of Gas be for an M3? Like Pure gasoline with no ethanol garbage that is supposedly a cause of the fuel pump failures that BMWs are having.

Thanks.

I think the general consensus is Shell or other "Top Tier" certified fuel, which is recommended by BMW. Good luck finding fuel without ethanol in our area. If it exists, I don't know of a place that sells it. It's all about 10% ethanol.

Footie,

My SA told me shell 93 as well. I try and use Shell as often as possible.

76 Octane 100 Racing Fuel, PG did a post on a stock m3 with 100 octane and it added 30whp to the wheels, but its really hard to find and very expensive, around 8 to 9 a gallon

I would like Shell 93, but so far, with all my encounters with Shell's in California, they are just 91, anyone else have any leads besides racing fuel at select 76's?

I use Sunoco 94 octane. It's the only place that seems to have 94 octane here.

I totally agree. Shell is horrible here in Cali. I use Chevron and every 6th time fill up with 76.

There is a reason to this madness.

When my M3 gets thirsty, I get V Power (93) from Shell. All my other family-mobiles get fuel from Sam's, Costco, or Walmart. Sometimes I do fill my M3 up at one of those 3 also...

I think the key is to rotate the gas brands once in a while. My concern is the excessive build up of using techron or Vpower. If you switch brands every so often, each one will help clean what the others couldn't.

I prefer shell 93...i drive a extra 10 miles just to fill up on it...if i cant get shell then i get Sunoco 93, because thats the only other gas station around me that doesnt put enthanol.
