Gintani hfc vs challenge sport
Was looking to get some feedback from those who have had both and which you prefer. I heard its always best to use the same company so I was leaning towards the gintani.

i don't think there is much difference but since you already have the gintani i would choose the gintani xpipe as well

There's definately a difference in design. Gintani places the cats in the position of the primaries, Challenge places the cats in the position of the secondaries. Gintani uses 300 cell cats, Challenge uses 200 cell cats. The placement of the "x" is different too. The resonators may be different sizes as well.

From what I read & heard, you get more HP with the HFC's in the stock secondary position like the Evo. I went w/Challenge Sport & am happy....but, if I could have scored another stock midpipe I would have just deleted the primaries.

I could not be happier. A friend has the Challenge with Eisenmann race and its is loud in the extreme. The Gintani will retain the deep throaty V8 sound where the Challenge will give a raspy sound. The Gintani cats are in the same position as stock, so the only downside is the ground clearance, there is more if they are further back,if your car is lowered quite a lot it's a small factor. On the upside you can change the front section to HFC, resonated (cat substitute) or or straight through (cat delete) without cutting, simply by changing the front pipes. I have numerous videos of the system on FB and YouTube (links in signature) sound is quite accurate and truly amazing. Last edited by DaveDee; 11-10-2012 at 04:33 PM. |

i have the challenge sport and both are great you will get the same feel from both actually. but as dave said challenge will give you rasp depending on the muffler. well whenever you delete the primary cats you will get rasp with the stock muffler.
