front oem new brake pad thickness?

Hi tried to do a search but could only find minimum brake pad thickness. I just bought a cpo'd '09 e93m. My ca said no history of front brake pad changes...the cpo paper work has front rotors at 28.29 (below minimum of 28.4) and pads at 9.5mm. Is this even correct? I'd imagine pads should be worn to less than 9.5mm if the rotors are below spec. Car has 42k miles when inspection done. something doesn't add up. Also idrive says needs replacing in 10,000 miles. Are new pads like 15mmm or more?? Seems like 9.5mm is a lot of meat left. maybe replaced pads not rotors and forgot reset indicator? thanks in advance.

oem front rotors are 30mm i believe and 9.5 is still more than half on the pads. seems like the pads were changed multiple times probably to get the rotors below minimum. i ran probably 6-8 sets of front race pads before my rotors needed changing. my guess is the car had some track time on it with other pads. did you check for stainless lines that would help explain maybe.

I'm sorry, I just got the car and have not taken off the wheel yet. What stainless lines am I looking for? As in stainless brakelines that were upgraded? I didn't think the original owner tracked it since every part of the car is stock...but I'd never know...

yes stainless brake lines. like i said probably tracked and owner changed pads himself. oem pads and rotors would probably last until 42k miles with street use but depends on driver. not likely that the rotors were worn out at that point, without track use, but possible. not with single set of pads though.

OEM pads are like 14 mm when new. Sounds like multiple OEM pads or track time/ pads were used to get the rotor down like that.
