-noob Introduction Socal-

What's going on guys, new to the board and brand(somewhat). I'm a service consultant at Mercedes Benz(ironic I know...) but I have a good friend who's the SM over at Shelly BMW and I happen to work next door. Basically gave me a smoking deal on pre-owned E92 M3 that I could not refuse so I picked one up at a good APR and even opted to purchase the 2yr BMW extended warranty. Been in the automotive game for 9yrs now and just had some questions about any "common" problems with these E92 M3's that I should lookout for or address to my advisor(want to take advantage of extended warranty). My vehicle info is in my sig and any additional info or feedback would be great, thanks...

welcome aboard, and congrats.
One common problem or flaw in design: no oil dipstick. That really gets on my nerve.

i honestly don't think this car has any "common" problems. yes people have had issues but i don't think there are reoccurring ones

Well that's a bit unfortunate... Luckily I know some of the technicians nextdoor if I ever needed to check my oil level.

I will once I get internet set up at my new apartment, I'm currently at my office. I'm also in the process of getting the vehicle lowered sometime next week. Got some H&R's on order, slapped on the factory gloss black grille, blacking out the chrome on the M3 fender vents and lastly wanting to order an RPI exhaust just don't know which one. Once that's all done and said I'll post some pics... Oh yeah and I'm picking up the competition package wheels and also powder coating them black.

I have an RPI GT exhaust; nice and loud, but love it. I live in La Verne, hit me up if you want to hear it.

Congrats and welcome. Since you're with Merc, why not the C63 AMG?

The cars are two different animals. It honestly depends on the person and what he or she likes or wants out of tr car.

But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

The no dipstick issue was a problem for me too in the past, now I learned to live with it by checking the oil level sometime before returning the car back to the garage.

I know we miss the feel, smell and seeing the oil via a dip stick. Also topping up is a pain in the a$$ however, it is what it is and we need to accept it. Unless sometime in future the ///M engineers will give us back our dipstick

Rolf,
Something weird happened to me recently (and no it doesn't involve a magical dip stick appeared under the hood) . Prior to me upgrading to the Evolve software, i was checking the oil level, it read 1/3 of liter low. After upgrading to the software, it is reading "full". Keep in mind, Evolve sends an upgraded factory software, 231E file, with all of their tuning.
