PDC Retrofit

Anyone have experience with this before?? I called D and V and they quoted 300 bucks for drilling the holes and putting in all the wiring in. Is that about right or too high??

We do this install. I assume you are just talking about the rear but the front is also available as well. It's not tough to do just takes some time.

not sure if it's drilling holes into your bumper is the right thing to do, but then again I'm not a mechanic or know anything about body work.

I would think you would need to buy the correct rear bumper with the holes in them already, sensors, and the attaching pieces.

That price is not that bad for the labor.

You can reference my Front PDC retrofit for some basic guides lines. Make sure that they use step drill bit to drill the holes.

ok so I guess I will also need to get the control switch for the dash them?? Just got a quote from Tischer and its 250 for it!

Not cheap. I got mine from Steve Thomas BMW for $165 & sold my old one for $55. The configurable universal is really only option. Trying to source a specific panel could be challenging.

You don't need the button, but it's a good idea to get it if you decide to get the front portion of the PDC. The rear PDC only has no button there.

Bumpers already have the area embossed where the PDC sensors go (atleast for sure the front one does). I think that's a reasonable price. It's a serious pain to wire the sensors through the firewall and into the trunk. Also keep in mind that the factory wiring diagram has an error in it, so make sure to let the shop know about that.

I had mine drilled for the front PDC and it looks equal or better than factory. I did the wiring/module install and programming myself and brought it to them just for the bumper part of the retrofit.
