Dunno why.

Doesn't happen driving Mrs. MMME30W's Honda Fit.
Hmmm..that's interesting because I just realized the same thing. My wife had a prius and I would arrive at my destination with high blood px as I was constantly cut-off in traffic. I wonder if it's a subconscious thing and people don't know they're doing it.

Seems like its very dependent on the are you live in. M3's are very common in sofla and go largely unnoticed. They dont really stand out when there are plenty of Ferrari's, lambos, etc everywhere you turn.

It could be because the vast majority* of Prius' (in this area) are driven by drivers who hog the fast lane, don't indicate, push the the front of stopped traffic and never wave when allowed into a gap. Sure it's subjective, but around L.A. the general Prius driver is even worse than the average L.A. resident, and that's saying something. What you experience may be payback for the ills of others

*to make clear, this absolutely does not mean you or your wife.

Yeah we sold the car for a LR4. That's how much of a problem it was and how much I overcompensated for my hatred of it.

Not so often, but i'm rarely places where people get the opportunity to say something. It's always in the back of the parking lot

Dealer had some compliments on it this weekend.

Ha, love it. Sister-in-law recently got a black LR4. Nice choice- looks great and drives great, though she's so far refused to let me try it out off road so I can compare and contrast with my slightly scratched up Cruiser. No clue why!

(supposed to be a pic here but I have no clue how to quickly resize)

I like my car to be understated. I don't like attention.

Get compliments once in a while. Bay area doesn't have too many nice cars but even when you do see them, most of the people have no idea about em. Out of 100% comments I do get - 70% are frm guys and 30% frm girls. End of the day, its me who stares at the car the most! Haha.

I get the occassional compliment but I definitely wouldn't consider my car a head-turner.

Surprisingly, even now 5 years after launch in the UK, mine gets lots of attention. I think the Mineral White Comp Pack really suits the E92 shape and also shows off the fact that it is an M3, with the carbon roof.

This is around London, where M3s are far from rare.

I have had people stop next to me at traffic lights and lean out of their car almost as if ready to lick the side. In slow moving traffic loads of grins and thumbs ups.

Regrettably almost always from guys.

My sister in law said it sounded fantastic when I overtook her, though. She is one of those all too rare women who loves cars.

When I drove my red Benz AMG my buddy called it the Pimp Mobile, might be that was the reason we got no more chicks ... wait I'm old that is why

You sold your nice car? what are you driving now? and is it red? do say it's a 911 red

I live in S. Cali and there are quite a few M3s and I still get a ton of compliments on the car. The way it sounds and looks. Then again MR is a looker along with the ZCP package and +1 tires, see my sig.

I live Charlotte NC...there are quite a number of M3s, so it's no biggie driving one. Plus there are lots of more exotics here too(Lambos, ferarri 458s, bentleys, masers, 911 turbos...). That said, I alway enjoy driving my M3 and it remains a special car to me as it should be to other M3 owners

Haha totally get it. I think a Fit must look like a Prius lol.

Tonight on the other hand I was in the Chik Fil A drive through and the young lady said "I love your car!". So it has happened to me once now.

We should all hang out... You probably saw Mike's car when he was on call at the hospital.

I provoke a head turn by slightly reving the throttle to hit that bad ass pitch of sound in my Megan exhaust. Works nearly every time.
