6-speed ESS VT1-535 with stock cats, trapping 119mph!!

Hi everyone, just wanted to share my results from the drag strip tonight, I have a E92 manual with just a VT1 and a Corsa exhaust, the car did a couple of good times(considering it was excessively slippery, you can see by the 60foots) but what I really wanted to show is the trap speed, 119mph on a 12.9 run!!

I think this could interest a lot of people who are hesitant as to if the VT1 will make enough of a difference in power on their manual M3 since no one had relly shown any real world proof(other then dyno numbers) of the gain in performance on a manual car. There's even a couple of videos on Youtube showing guys trapping 109-111mph with their VT1 and some others of a manual VT1 barely keeping up with a DCT with bolt-ons! I know it made ME hesitant when I wanted to go with the 535 kit, after all you don't want to put a superchager on your 6-speed and lose to a catless DCT!

Here's the time slip of my best trap and some of other good runs of today:




this one is my best ET yet with the VT1, it was 2 weeks ago when I just had the kit installed, the track was a lot more sticky that day(you can tell by the better 60foot) but unfortunitly I hitted the 2nd gear cut-off in that run and I had no time to try again!

That is a good trap for a manual Alex keep at it im sure you can get into the 120's with a little more practice

Drew trapped a 118 with DCT, most of the highest trap records are all DCT cars. DCT VS manual on the same track can add 2-3 mhp to your trap easy.

The fastest bolt-on DCT I heard of was traping 118mph. But DCT are so much faster to shift that it's hard to compare them from a standing start race since the shifthing advantage is much more present, I'm pretty sure from a roll in 2nd gear a bolt-on DCT would have no show.

From what I can see on dragtimes.com, the track elevation of Luskville dragway is 200ft.

Thanks Roman, I'll sure try to improve that but even if I don't I'm really happy with that trap, I would've been really happy with 117-118, 119 is a lot more then what I was expecting(only because of the bad press from the manual cars with VT1 on Youtube). Now I would only want a last sunny day to improve my ET before winter arrive and I'll also dyno the car in the next weeks so I'll post the result soon! And hopefully next year I'll put a test pipe and go with methanol, so I'll have some more reason to go to the track!

Thanks again to you and also Andrew at IND for the supercharger kit, there's nothing that would make me change my car now!!

edit: oh, by the way, I had the chance to go against a stock manual M3 last week on the highway, we did a couple of 2nd gear pulls just for the sake of science and by the time I hit 3rd gear, I was already 3-4 car lenght ahead and by the time I hit 4th the stock M3 was hard to find in my rear view mirror! I would'nt be surprise if I had found you a new costumer!
