I would guess that this concept could create a problem with smaller diameter wheels and/or BBKs. If this were an 18" track wheel fitting over a front BBK, I could see that second/inner valve stem colliding with the caliper body.

It's obvious even the experts miss things once in a while...it's clear the second whole is for weight savings purposes. Wait, nope, maybe the crappy economy has hit the wheel market as well...need to make savings somewhere. j/k Normal as everyone else has said.

Usually the manufacturer will supply a base style plug if it has been dual drilled..
![]() This lets you mount the sensor in the correct position in the "drop" of the wheel. Without the plug style you have a valve stem sticking up on the back of the wheel which can create clearance issues, especially with BBK. |
