Hi all, I'm about to install a BMW Performance Steering Wheel (Version II).
The installation manual states that the wheel (version II) requires coding if you do not have a sports steering wheel installed, I'm confused as to what exactly is a "sports steering wheel". Does my standard E90 M3 (2008) have a sports steering wheel or not (it's the standard M wheel with the four buttons on either side). |

I think that applies for non-M3s. M3s only come with one wheel.
Unless you're getting the electronic steering wheel, there shouldn't be any coding required.

This is correct. The M3 comes with the sport wheel.

The performance V2 wheel is electronic (has shift lights and race computer), but I now understand from someone else who has had one fitted that it does not require coding on a 2008 E90 M3 at least.

Correct. None of the performance wheels require coding on the M3.
