Top Speed hit in your m3? (legally)

Hey guys just wondering what the highest top speeds are for our m3s and what mods they were achieved with.

Mines 180. Had my passenger take a picture of it while we were on the runway.

post them up!

i am just curious how you achived that and in what gear? I once on a closed course tried reaching the max speed of the car, and i found out that the car can get to 120/130 rather quickly. When i tried getting around the 140+ mark, the accleratation slowed down, and the car had more vibrations, and that's when i slowed down and couldn't see what 150+ feels like...that's when a heavier 5 series comes in handy.

does hot weather or higher oil temperature affect the car not reaching top speed quicker, perhaps?

I've hit an indicated 169 . But isn't there a limiter or something? Cuz it cuts out at 7k in 6th unless I'm going down hill.

The altitude of where you tried to achieve this plays a role in your results. If your m3 is not tuned I believe the car cuts off at 155mph. If you're tuned I think 185mph is the max and as for Ess I GUESS over 200mph

BMWs seem to have soft limiters or inaccurate tachs. Hit an indicated 170mph in my 08 M5. Got there fast but just stayed there going up and down 1mph whether I was in 6th or 7th. Felt very planted, which I'd expect given that they're rated at 205 mph with just governor removal.

Have only taken the M3 to 130 or so, but I have no doubt stock with the limiter removed it's an easy 180mph car. German autobahns are very nice...
