Thanks again for the suggestions guys. I'm actually going to check out a Boss tomorrow. Also got a very very competitive offer on a fully loaded CTS-V.

Those things you want are pretty minor, not worth the trouble for a whole new car.

MOD IT!

Decision is up to you, but the only other car I've test driven on your list is the CTS-V Coupe. It was very nice and fast as hell, but it is much bigger and heavier than our M3s. It becomes even more apparent when they are side by side.

You will always be in the same spot, no matter when you buy.

If you buy at the beginning of a car's life cycle, you will want the mid cycle improvements. If you buy mid cycle, you will wonder if you should wait until the new model comes out. There will ALWAYS be something new and improved coming. Just buy, and set in your mind to keep it for a decent number of years (4-5), before moving on. This will be long enough that you don't feel like you've thrown away money, and short enough that you can "hold out" until the next model is out and has all the bugs worked out. I also never buy a new version of a car in its first year of release.

Just to keep you guys updated on this, I was able to work out a deal on a new e92 M3 with all of the options I want. My M would be traded as a wash and then the new M would cost me about $30 extra per month (lease) with $2000 out of pocket. So in the end it would end up costing me about another $3000 to upgrade. I'm taking the rest of the weekend to think it over, but it sounds promising.

The essence of this car is its engine and the way it handles. If you have lost interest those things, I doubt that trading to a well-optioned example will leave you sated. I would either hang onto it for a couple years and save for what's next, or move to something new now.

Here is my .02. I had a e60 545 for many years until I brought it in for some issues and it was going to be a 6k bill to fix. That was 45% of the cars value so I got rid of it. I figured I would trade it on a new e60 550 m-sport all options, carbon black, sport trans..... It was exactly the car i wanted but after 7 years in the same style car with "LCI, better stuff and more options". If I had to do it over again, I would have taken a different route. You only have two years in compared to my 7 years but it sounds like you have that itch. I would do some test drives, wait, re test drive and then decide.

I drove a m3 before but it wasn't until my sales guy told me to take a newly traded 2011 e90 m3(dct) for the day to see how I like it and come back a week to re try. Needless to say a e90 M3 is in my near future. It was the long/ multiple test drives that did it

Hmm, so $3000 for comp pkg, Sat radio, etc. Doesn't sound like a bad deal, at least from a high level.
