BMS Cowl Filters - Worth it on M3?

Howdy folks, I was wondering if anyone has been running the BMS Cowl Filters on their E9x M3? - http://www.burgertuning.com/cowl_fil...w_135_335.html

It says they fit the M3, but haven't seen a single thread about an M3 owner running them. I had them on my 135i and they were awesome, you could really hear the turbos and BOV. It would add some more engine and intake noise (which is always warranted in my opinion).

Anyways, just thought I'd ask and see.

Looks like we'd lose the activated charcoal type of cleansing, but these are innovative, I never knew they existed, thanks for posting.

Never seen this before either. And it's not a bad price. Coincidentally, I need to change my filters soon too, might give this a shot.

They sure do make a lot of claims without any proof to back it up.

non M e90 guys are running this to increase turbo spooling and blow off valve sound… Only concerns are water coming into the engine bay moreso than with the stock cowl in place.

Would be interesting to get a real world review on these for the e9xm

Looks cheap and simple which are great IMO.

However I currently enjoy/don't notice the air quality coming out of the vents....

Would this let in water? Would hate to get a mildewy smell in the M3... had that problem in my last car and it was gross.

Yeah that's what I'd be worried about too. Says "will keep dirt and debris out" but nothing about water.

Looks like you lose your auto recirculating sensors with these, #4 on the instructions.

What about that button that tells the hood is closed?

What do the guys do with that?

I was also curious about the hood button, not to mention I have no idea how to take that sucker off - it seemed pretty stuck on there.

If anyone knows how to get the hood sensor off please post it =)

Idk, the whole idea makes me scratch my head. I need to take a closer look under the hood and see WTF they're taking out

Are you trying to take it off that cover panel? Because I think it's on it if I remember correctly (from doing brake fluids)

Yeah I was trying to remove it from the cover piece in order to install these BMS Cowl Filters to give them a test run. It looks like it can be removed, but it's being a pain.

I'd like to see some information to support those claims. Otherwise this is a pretty neat trick.

I ran these on my 335i in sunny and torrential rainfall Florida. ..engine noise, turbo spool, and exhaust resonance noise increased by a good margin....unfortunately only inside the cabin.

You tried it on the M3 or 335i?

Where are the sensors kept (step #4 of the install) after they are removed?
