According to John, owner of CCW, He has not seen cracks in similar areas on other C14 wheels.

(I certainly am, but just wondering if you use them as well.) It's my understanding that race teams have to repair or replace wheels fairly often, even high-quality ones. Based on reading your posts for the last couple of years, I get the sense that you track fairly often. Could this just be the eventual endpoint for all wheels in the track setting, some failing sooner than others?

I check my tires for wear before and after track sessions, but not my wheels. That probably needs to change now. Thanks for the heads-up.
I have a few sets of wheels, including another set dedicated for r comp tires. It's hard to count track days, but these wheels went through 2x sets of Yokohama AD08s and 1x set of Cup tires.

I've asked a few CCW users on and around the race track but none of them had issues. Based on my speculation, I think it may just be a batch of bad forgings. The cracks appear to be caused by high cycle fatigue which grew over time. I don't go over curbs aggressively or often to shorten the life of these wheels to just 15k miles.

Dear moderators, please sticky this thread to show other wheel manufacturers how "situations" should be handled. Especially if it involves products that we put our hard earned cash and life/lives for i.e. wheels. There should be no excuses i.e. "lightening purposes"

Good to know that their are companies like CCW that still exist.

That is a great thing you caught that before something catstrophic happened. Just a thought - Could it be that with enough stress and temperature variations wheels can fail regardless of what brand they are? Isn't this why race teams use 3 piece wheels?

Mother of god. What a wheel manufacturer does. Notice this thread will not grow into one of hatred and discontent for CCW but one of praise and future potential customers. It would be nice to see if they share the results of what happened.

Kudos CCW, kudos.

Luckily you caught this before anything bad happened. Hats of to CCW for taking care of you.

So is there a hypothesis on the cause? Seem to be stress fractures.

Had a C10 crack on my GT3. CCW is no longer owned by John and now is owned by WELD wheels which is a larger corporation. They told me to pound sand and give them $795 for a new wheel which would take 10-12 weeks to replace. The warranty on the C series wheels is now 30 days...wow!

It's too late for me... I already have 8 10.5 BW TE:AL wheels in gloss black

I 'need' another 8 and at this point they'll be black as well, no point in messing with the set

they got bought out back in 2015-2016 i believe. Most of the employees left to BC Racing/BC Forged Wheels... I had CCW classics new on my s2000, never had an issue but they did have a had a bunch of bad batches on their 1 piece wheels. A few of the 3pc stuff too.
