2008 E92 M3  [0.00]
shouldn't have to, if its been engineered properly, as in the transport department is ok with it.

ole, have you got a modification plate for the S/C?

In QLD you need one to maintain roadworthy'ness and insurance. In VIC, they might be called engineering certificates or something like that.

No i dont have one so i guess ill need to take it off. there are 2 types of epa tests i know one is for just sound and the other is for sound and emissions. my qustion is if you get epa for sound will they only check the exhausst or will they see the sc when they lift the bonnet and then test you for the other epa test which is for emissions

So I take the car to a tester today, with the whole akra EVO kit on.

The toon tests me at 5925rpm which makes me think wtf. I ask him where he got that shit from, shows me the latest EPA list from 2002, and says he tested me against the M3 on that, which was an e46.

I say no. He tosses a fit and I say fck off and get the right specs.

So gonna give EPA a call and give them a mouthful on Monday.

For the record, idle is well below 90db and rev to 5925 rpm is 98db.

Fcking retards.

Ok all. After a complaint to EPA, I've received the following test specifications for the e92 M3. It'll come in useful if you ever get pulled up and the stupid testers don't know squat about M cars.

Maximum Permissible Noise Level: 92db
Tested at: 6225 rpm

As the e92 M3 is designed to meet ADR83/00 noise limits, it also allows for a 5db(a) tolerance for exhaust system deterioration.
