If you live in Southern Cali and got your supercharger installed here...

Where did you go? And separately, if you had any problems, where did you go and get problems diagnosed and fixed?

I'm considering doing a supercharger and outside of shipping my car to IND, I'm curious as to members' experiences with installers and any issues they have come across with superchargers and whether those problems were "easily" remedied.

Thanks!

Been running my GINTANI stage 2 kit for over 3 years now and had it installed by them at their main facility here in van nuys. Have only ever had to take it back to them for various upgrades (stuff like retuning on 240E software and euro MDM) one of the main reasons I went with them is the fact that they are local so in the event that anything was to occur I could actually go and speak with them face to face.
Many other very reputable shops as well such as EAS or MRF are here in so cal and offer great service also. The supercharger kits out for this car have all been tried and tested now many times over so you can't really go wrong.

You should look into HGMS seeing you are located in SD...or drive down to OC to go to EAS.

I would rather push my car into a river than go see Dieter. But thanks.

Board sponsors: EAS, MRF (little closer to you). Auto Talent is also excellent in Carson.

I don't have a supercharger but Malek has done all of the work on my car. Highly recommended. I know he has done lots of ESS supercharger installs.

Give us a call as forced induction has been one of our specialties for nearly a decade along with many E9x applications.

I'm curious to why you say this, please tell me why. I had my tune installed at HGMS a couple of years ago, but I left SD now and I heard they split up or something?

I have known Dieter for a little bit and there were some personal/business things that he handled in a way I "disagreed" with. But this was before they moved into their Sorrento Valley facility and I have no comments on their current work.

Perfect install on mine over a year ago. Not one issue and I've beat the living snot out of mine!

FWIW I had a tune installed by HGMS and had a positive experience. I have also gotten to know Dieter a little and he seems to be a stand up guy. He is a friend of a friend and I have heard positive things about him and HGMS. There was one former employee that wasn't super responsive for another friend needing a tune on a car that required some R&D but he has since left. They have also ramped up their shop capabilities including fabrication (roll bars).

I have gravitated towards Malek at MRF because he knows the M3 platform extremely well, he does great work, very meticulous, and on top of it all his pricing is fair.

My experience with Dieter stems from 2011 and it was a Mercedes related issue and as I repeat, in no way am I saying anything about the current state of HGMS or their work. They're just not a place I will ever bring my car.

I would say EAS, ACG, Malek and IND are the ones I am primarily looking at.

I've been running the Gintani Stage 2 since Feb, I've put 10,000 miles on the supercharger set up. I've been to 8 track events and 2 drag strip (air strip) events. 0-160 runs. I beat the living shit up out of my kit. The only problem I have ever had was my idle control valve went bed. I've ran the same pulley, same tune since day one. No head aches, and it looks great.

I would recommend Gintani to anyone that has a M3.

What kit are you getting? If it's ESS than go to European Auto Source (EAS), they are the Socal premier ESS dealer, and their work is outstanding.

If it's a Gintani kit then go to Gintani, if AA, then Auto Talent.

I installed my own ESS kit which I recommend doing if you dont mind getting your hands dirty.

That being said, Malek is the first guy I call when I have run into problems.

Check out ACG if you are near SD. A friend of mine used them and was happy. If closer to LA I would contact EAS.
