idrive e93 11'

i want to get idrive apps in my car i was at the dealership and there was an issue with my idrive buttons. i requested an update to get them. they only replaced my buttons and nob. seems like they didnt do any software updates. they told me it isnt available on my car. is this true and if not how can i do it without the dealship

No reason to update unless you have a specific reason. There is an update for mine but I didn't do it as everything works perfect.

Navi update takes between two and four hours, so it can get quite pricey to have it done, without a real benefit.

Updating should only be done with a specific problem that needs to be addressed, or if you are retrofitting combox for Bluetooth streaming and need to update the software to be compliant.

I agree with Mike, I wouldn't update software unless it's absolutely neccessary. If your navi works now, then it works. Move on.
