Post How many M3 Convertible Owners are Motorcyclists?

Hello fellow ///M3 Cabriolet owners!

I've noticed in a few of the comments or avatars, that a number of M3 convertible drivers are also motorcycle riders. So the question is: What's the ratio of current (or recent) motorcyclists that drive M3 convertibles?

Please, poll participation only among us 400-pounds-slower-than-everything-else owners. (You know who you are.)

Perhaps you should change the heading to ...

How many M3 Convertible owners have a Motorcycle or owned one before?

or add it into your post

Only you can add a Poll

something like ...

1) I have a e93 M3 and a bike

2) I owned a bike before my e93 M3

3) I owned a bike before my e92 M3

4) I owned a bike before my e90 M3

5) I love to have a bike just wife would kill me

6) Some day I will own both the bike and the M3

In my case I had a bike when I was 19 in Germany. My best friend lost his life some 500 meters in front of me (going thru one of the sharp German highway bends) I sold my bike the next day and never touched another bike since then.

EDIT ... sorry I missed the Poll when I added this reply.

Sorry to hear that. It's quite awful when people driving a vehicle are severely injured or killed. I've never witnessed a fatal motorcycle collision; but have seen the occurrence of two fatal car crashes -- but I still drive cars.

Re: the poll: I'm just trying to keep it simple by looking at current motorcycle operators and current cabriolet owners. Though I suspect that the "wife doesn't allow it" option might reign supreme! LOL.

Thanks for feedback!

My best friend was decapitated (went thru the windshield of a VW bus), the VW bus was in the wrong lane and did not take the curve properly. It was a very sad day, the VW driver (a lady) was heavily charged. Her brake rubber marks in the wrong lane was all the judge needed to see.

Drive safely

Sure, if the Piaggio has two wheels!

(I'll even allow those Can-Am three-wheelers, but that's pushing the limits, hehe)

Yes, E93 and former motorcycle owner. A lot safer and the vert is the best I can do for the same feeling, but I miss the bike sometimes.

+1.

First bike was a Suzuki SV650 that died when I was hit by a car (my knee died, too!). Gave up riding for a year or so, then got the itch when I saw a new BMW R1100S. Bought it, rode it from LA to Vermont and back in 2005, one of the best things I've ever done. Bought a BMW K1200S in 2008, did a couple of long trips on it, then realized that phase of life was coming to a close and city driving didn't appeal to me. I live in Dallas, and about every 2 weeks there is a mcycle fatality that boggles the mind (flying off of 100-foot overpasses, etc.), so I let it go. The e93 is a near-perfect replacement.

But I will always love how it felt to ride.

Have a e93 ///.. Retired Mx'er... Hense the screen name....

Not to much in to sport-bikes as I would kill myself. The faster i go the harder my heart pounds the more I love it! On the street for me I just want to cruise. I took my aggression out on the track.

Im into bobbers. Thats just me. Like flyrite choppers... Indian larry style bikes...

I did have a Suzuki boulevard m109r for a little bit. For the wife and I..

I totally believe that!

Hey, if I could figure out how to get the four track tires, floor jack, lugwrench, AND the CBR600RR into the E93, I'd bring it out to MSRH this month and we'll see what you can do!

Some day, I'm going to convince a Track Day location to allow me to do a lap with the E93 and then turn around immediately and spin the CBR600RR. Should be a nice comparison (even though I agree with you, and there will be a significant difference between the two lap times)

That makes a bunch of sense! Because there are times when passengers would prefer to ride horizontal with a hand on the door handle instead of looking at the footpegs scraping the ground!

---

It's a bit amusing that an E93 weighs 400 pounds more, which is almost exactly the dry weight of the Honda CBR600RR.
