I just got off the phone with the BMW sales rep at the parts area in Annapolis BMW and I saved 20% on my items boss..

well, they're not answering the phone....I'll call them tomorrow. I'm a bit skeptic as Tischer's is already marked off significantly from "list price".

20% off as compared to what though? What was their original price?

I've heard of dealers that mark up prices and when they announced "XXX % off" it means they are dropping the price down to regular MSRP. So it's not like they're losing any money.

BMW annapolis has great prices normally. They are running some type of special that was on the TV and I just happen to need a roof rack, instead of something like 236 it was 189 today...

Yep and this incident is a good example, most dealers can't go any lower than Tischer's price, and most can't even get close to it or price match it....gotta love Tischer/GetBMWParts.com

99.9% of the time, it's the lowest out there, unless someone is willing to sell it below cost. Oh, and they usually have it in stock, so no waiting.

No - I would not condone or go to a dealer that marks up their prices and plays it off when doing a discount special like they're doing us a favor. Call it capitalism, marketing, business, or whatever, it's still dishonest to me. Hence the term "stealership". They probably have the clientele to get away with it though.

Fortunately there are smart people on these forums that know better and spread the word

I always use Tischer as a price reference. Generally, I look for preowned OEM parts on the forum and I use Tischer as a reference for what the new prices are. Examples would be people selling OEM M performance exhausts used for like $100 cheaper than Tischer's prices...lol.

I'm in no way a Tischer fanboy, I always cross shop Tischer's price with other vendors and local dealerships. 9/10 times, Tischer always comes out the cheapest, even with shipping or pick up costs. If you're willing to put the effort in, generally you'll find the best prices. Comparable forum dealers are also Mckenna and United BMW...but you have to contact the forum reps instead of parts department directly.
