it only has 1/10 of $$ signs, it better be 1/10 the cost of an M3.

That's some great humour! Test drove a Focus and it really is pretty fun for what it is, actually was considering one before I decided to just go with the MINI.

I don't know why people have issues with this car or this commercial, both seemed awesome to me. You all should be wishing ford well, and they need a strong come back against the Japanese.

1) That was pretty awesome. Im glad they didnt actually make the comparision

2) The ST im sure is a hoot to drive. I got to drive an RS last year in England, and that was an f-ing blast. This has less grunt, but should be tight.

3) I have no idea why anyone on here would take issue with that ad. Who cares. Its fun and doesnt even attempt to hurt the ego of the fragile who get worked up about their M3.

For the price, the focus is a very fun car.. I've driven one and its got enough oomph to work well around city driving. And the steps that Ford is making with SYNC, are class-leading, for sure. I doubt if many people are trying to decide purchasing between a m3 and a focus, but i think the general point they were trying to make is that its affordable. just a commercial.. pretty fun one.

That's it? That's all they could come with to convince us to buy their product?
This is why American car makers are where they are. They've spent the last 30 years building the cheapest thing they can make, then, assuming the public is stupid, relying on dishonest marketing to sell to the ignorant masses.
And everyone over here buys it. Sharp looking little car. "turbo" and its affordable. People are gonna buy them.

One of my friends had a focus way back when and it was just a plain jane edition. I borrowed it once and it was really fast zippy fun car. I would contemplate purchasing one for a winter rider. I liked the SVT version that was orange (before orange was cool) with gunmetal grey wheels stock...

Yeah, but I bitch about all advertising. Most of it is aimed at the lowest common denominator and most advertising is disengenuous at best. I know it's always been that way and always will. It just irritates me that so many people are so mindless that advertising works as well as it does. In other words, sadly, the older I get, the less I think of the human race, and advertising is a good indication of why. It really isn't specifically about the ford. It's just a typical example of what's wrong with advertising in general. Don't take me too seriously. I'm just bitchin for the sake of bitchin. Why does it bother you so much? You're being just as crotchety as I am.

I think that is a GREAT commercial.....it's fun and a bit funny at the end. I totally get the point of it and think its VERY clever.

At the end of the day I'm proud to own the car that serves as the benchmark for every car outside of an exotic or Porsche.....pretty f***ing cool if you ask me

Cheers,
e46e92
