small pitting on my windshield
I was hoping there might be a filler product I could use to fill up the dozens of microscopic pits. Something like the treatment you can get done for large stone chips, but on a much smaller scale.
claying won`t work as these are actual pits and not contaminants on the windshield any kind of product out there? would opti coat work? |

One option is to try polishing the glass with a pad and polish specifically designed for auto glass. There are kits out there, however, the pits won't disappear. I have not seen a filler or resin that can fill the small chips in the glass. The only option that really works is replacing the windshield which is probably not the answer you want to hear.
Glass on the M3 and now all BMW's are really soft and chip easily. Highways beat the crap out of my windshield it's pretty sad. |

Yes and no. Polishing glass takes a lot more work and finesse than plastic headlight lenses.

Buy some cerium oxide powder from eBay, mix with some water, and use a buffer. That will reduce how noticeable the pits are.
