All-Season BBK for E92 M3

I live in Toronto and drive my car all year round. I have heard that some BBKs dont have appropriate seals for winter (snow/ice/slat) use.

Which kits are better for the "Great White North"?

Thanks

My Alcon BBK has survived 2 Chicago winters, although the last one was nothing, and it is daily driven. No problems and has been subject to extreme use Think most modern BBK's are up to the task though

I think you are referring to dust boots? Without boots, dirt, brake dust, and other chemicals can contact the seals. You have to get into very serious racing/track oriented BBKs before they are run bootless.

A performance mechanic here in Toronto once told me that there were issues with Stoptech and several others. This was about 5 plus years ago, so perhaps the technology has improved

I think he may have been misinformed. OEM brakes and aftermarket brakes are pretty much identical when it comes to the parts used in their construction. They are made to work in all weather climates.

Stoptechs have the STR calipers which don't have dust boots I believe. But the street trophy and regular BBKs have dust boots.

Most of the BBK's you see adverstised here come with dust seals, only the few race only applications you will find without them.

Yes, both Trophy Sport and regular BBK have seals/boots.
