08 & 09 price help

Hello all, in the process of selling my sti and moving onto an m3. found these two so far and am curious on pricing help, what to offer, take, etc.

I have narrowed it down to two cars in the color i like. The CF roof and 19" wheels are a big plus for me and i really dont care about the nav.

Any thoughts on where to start negotiating these cars with the dealer at?

I would like to pay at most $45k including TTL out the door on the top one and $42 out the door on the bottom one. Is that settling to fast? No CPO option but i might pick that up later on my own.

Just got the carfax from the dealer. 4 owners on the 2009 M3 in 3 different states makes me worried.

I think that one is out of the mix.

2009 model way too much as it doesn't have Navi or M-Drive

Adding this one into the mix. Any thoughts on where to start negotiating? I am thinking $42,000.

I don't know if you noticed, so forgive me if you have, but the Carfax says it was in a rear end collision and that it hit another vehicle. That's something to think about, too.

I did catch that, thanks for the heads up though either way! The dealer is not willing to work on the price at all with me. The search continues!

Carfaxes can be overrated at times, but a car like an M3 is huge...Many dealers go around snagging up cheap M3's with shady carfaxes so they can have price leading cars on the internet. Also, you are talking about 3-4 grand in taxes + fee's based on where you live, most cars do not have 8 grand mark up....new 7 series barely have that, so keep your pricing realistic.

My advice, on a used M3 get as much history as possible. I work for a reputible BMW/Porsche/Benz dealer and we lose alot of customers because our prices are "too high"...But we value one owner cars with full service history, especially a car like an M3...and you should too.

What I have learned, you always get what you pay for.

Thanks for the info^^ The Ca state taxes are definitely something that i am not looking forward to and I have noticed that a lot of low ball offers wont even be meet with a counter offer so i have adjusted my pricing accordingly.

Checking out a great 1 owner private party sale this weekend. hope it goes well.
