Now I dare you to read and understand the entire thread. Several BMW engines have similar problems, along with most direct injection engines manufactured today. Nothing new here. Advancing technology always has it's issues. As it is, I've been able to effectively solve the issue with a custom engineered racing oil.

If you're interested, here's the advanced racing oil that we used in our custom formulation. Renewable Lubricants makes some Bio-based Synthetic oil blends that have some incredibly advanced properties, and are better than anything else commercially available.

Oh I am sure. Most of us here still remember the early production e46 m3 engine.

Funny this thread was of such importance you had to register to post your retaliation.

Epacy, actually it's not a retaliation at all. I'd actually like to get the word out about the oils that Renewable Lubrications make. Nothing I know of touches them in protecting high performance engines.

As an aside, I actually think M3's are well designed cars, both old and new. This kind of competition between BMW and Audi are good for the industry and us enthusiasts. I have no doubt that the new M3 will be a tad faster than the RS4. It better be, considering the additional 10% driveline loss of the Quattro system.

And BMW changed the parts in question for all MY's with the remote possibility of a possible problem.
