One thing I've learned is that ADV1 uses the same companies that everyone else uses to make their wheels. With that being the case, why do they charge double the price? Certainly the quality isn't better....probably worse after ADV1 gets their hands on the center and starts drilling holes all over it.
They have marketed themselves to charge a premium price for their exclusivity. More proof that in our society, all you need is the loudest mouth to be heard the most.....and a gullible audience.

This thread was the only thread tibra and I agreed on... we gave each other sh!t on a daily basis, and disagreed on pretty much everything modding related; but I seriously hope he comes back.

If I was gonna order some expensive wheels from US, I'd probably wouldn't dare going with anyone other than HRE.

Forgeline is another US Wheel Company I would put my money on aside from HRE...both are race/track proven.

I know that HRE is exotic and expensive, but man I don't like their wheels. I know their quality is exceptional, but the looks :-/

Wow, unbelievable. There is no question that two threaded holes touching each other weakens structural integrity and increases the likelihood of a stress fracture. ADV should have just sent him another set of wheels rather than attempt to convince everyone that it is a safe manner to save weight (on 21's lolz) with arbitrarily-placed threaded holes. Hope you get your refund OP.

Can you imagine BBS doing the same thing? I sure can't.

I will buy a cheap set of VMR over ADV.1 etc. of expensive junks from FL any day.
As far as i understood, Active does not sell ADV.1 anymore. If you check their website, they are no longer advertised under the wheels section.

I found this on L4P so I came here. This is one screwed up deal. They should have had these wheels shipped straight back to them in 2011 for that matter WB who said they have no involvement should have had them sent back to them and they handled it with ADV1. When my Audi breaks I dont call germany I call the dealer (to much I need a new car)

Anyone who believes the weight savings bs is slow. Obviously a screw up as stated as a matter of fact I think the issue with Eugene was mentioned to be misaligned bolt holes which was probably the issue here.

Now this issue is a couple years old along with the last issue but allegedy this company was a new company with experienced company practices (massive failure) but maybe the newer stuff is better quality.

Now on the TUV thing I read to today in the wall street journal that the owner of a investment firm in Iowa stole like $200 million from people just by photoshopping bank statements obviously These skills could be used to scam so much more.

Oh and the 55 wheels are made by COR in Miami so its one of SFLA 2 dozen wheel companies. and they are obviously trying to mimick ADV1's marketing with an EPIC FAIL.

If you guys want to really get the word out about these failures turn to facebook and tell all your friends maybe start a instagram page with pictures. This is where the real sales are made.

Just a final statement I think ADV1 has awesome looking wheels and I would buy a set at the right price and a very thorough inspection but they would probably not sell to me as I would be the biggest PIA customer they ever had and I'm cheap.

you know, customer's are purchasing the Adv1 product with incorrect manufacturing and fake TUV documents. they have a few sales guys that don't know what there doing and rely on the MHT for fitment's and manufacturing. however, how many more customer's is this going to keep happening too? How many customer's haven't taken there wheels apart and seen the poor quality of manufacturing process of these wheels?

Slightly off topic, but I had the first gen 360 Forged Mesh 8's when they first came out. From the get go they were horrible. Debris in the clear coat. The run around of it all made me go ahead and paint them black. Lost a center cap and it took 4-6 months to get another set. After a lot of calling from my buddy's shop (who placed the initial order) they mailed the wrong set- they were for the "redesigned" Mesh 8. Then another 4 months to get the right set. In the mean time I bent two barrels and those took another 5 weeks. It was always something. I gave up on the 360s and have run my stock wheels since then. I like the ADV1 designs, but can't justify buying them for 1) price and 2) hearing more horror stories. I think my next set will be Volk's.

Glad to hear they're still junk. I'll stick to HRE's.

NO you can still buy 3 or 2 - piece wheels with ease, but stick to proven companies that sponsor raceteams such as BBS, HRE, FIKSE, Forgeline etc... I doubt youll see ADV.1 wheels on the track and this is why!!!!!!

What do you mean? You mean their Trak line wasn't tested for use at the track?
