i agree... i was there by myself and tried to talk to people, but it seemed like everyone was in groups. nobody was exactly mean or snobby when I introduced myself, but I just didn't feel like I was part of any "group"

Hi guys,

I kinda felt like the outsider the first I went too. Come back and it will be a lot easier to talk with folks. What I've found is that the 'regulars' do remember seeing you and your car, which makes it easier to strike up a conversation with them next time. I can guarantee you, I and others enjoy meeting and talking with other members about cars, life and whatever. There are some real car nuts here and they can really deep dive on the nuts and bolts of a moded car.

I know that I talked with some new folks yesterday, and some 'regulars'. I wanted to talk to the guy with the blue M coupe...always wanted one of those but the wife thinks they are funky looking...to each their own I guess...but I didn't connect with him. Hopefully he'll come back, and so will you.

Chief

kchu, when did you get there? I didn't see your car, I don't think.

Slo guy, where you with a girl in a space gray M3?

Chief, I can ask the M coupe guy to come out again if you'd like. From what I know, he really enjoys the M coupe. Came from an e46.

Thanks to The Tech for setting it up!

Well, my wife and baby boy yes. When I said I came alone I meant that I didn't know anyone else there. Like I said no one was rude, I spoke to Joe and Randy from Evassive as well. Just felt a little awkward.

Gotcha. I was talking to someone about your car for the longest time, haha. Car looked good! I had the other space gray.

It was my first time. I think us new comers were probably were about the same. I talked to M3PO, Chief (who was nice enough to lead the way when we saw each other on the street), and The Tech. I'll be sure to look for you next time.

Maybe we should do Cars and Coffee one of these weekends.

You guys gotta just jump into a group and start meeting/talking! We are all BMW/car enthusiasts.

I was trying to get around to talk to everyone but I got caught up in the E30/E36 group cause I'm working on an S50 swap for my E30 so we had a lot to talk about!

Yeah I noticed something odd that I never have really seen at meets before. People would arrive in groups, only talk amongst themselves and then leave again in groups. It was interesting to watch.

I've seen this before. When I had a 350z still, we had a nice meet going. Then we invited the 370z guys. It was very "clickey" and the 370z guys got butt hurt. There was actually some drama between the two groups. The meet is still going and now everyone is close and in some cases there are more 370z than 350z.

My point is, this meet is in it's "teething" stages. Once the groups get more comfortable with each other and the OGs promote mingling, all will be well.

I guess it happens with this sort of "cross-breeding". I hope that we can become more cohesive as time goes by.

The Tech and Sean05 - Pleasure meeting you two. See you at the next one.
