Arrow Need some exhaust measurements

my e92 M3 hasnt arrived yet, I am using a returned DRB Motorsports exhaust system and cutting off the mufflers and installing a dual in/dual out magnaflow with an internal cross pipe. I need the measurement in between the two pipes going into the factory muffler...thanks guys

so i am using the old drb t304 piping then using a 90 degree joints into this, then 90 degree joints out..just want to make sure this muffler is short enough to add the 90's in and out..thanks

I have that same muffler, I was planning on removing the xpipe and putting this muffler in its place. I have the Magnaflow cat back already.

If you are looking for the distance between the stock connecting pipes, we need to know where to make the measurements because they are different distances apart depending upon where you are (they aren't parallel at all times). How you decide where that location is (how far forward or back the muffler will be positioned on the car) is going to be highly dependent upon the dimensions of the muffler and the bends required to make the tips work and mate up to the stock pipes. I don't this this is something that can be done over the internet. You'll probably have to wait until you have it in front of you.

Nonetheless, I have a rear section sitting around so give me some more details on what you need and I'll try to help.

i have a feeling you maybe right, going to get some 90 degree bends to have, then start playing with positions with my muffler/welder guy when the car gets here next week

Can the Magnaflow flow that way? (No pun intended) Won't the opposing gas streams meet in the middle and cause back pressure, even with a cross?

I had that muffler setup that way in my 335 and it made more power than a straight through design. Magnaflow now sells their 335i system with that muffler.

If the pipes are straight through design like on many magnaflow, the proposed use would not be good for performance. If it is all open chamber inside, it would work. One quick look through the muffler and you will know.

i called Magnaflow, they have several cat back designs using similar muffler setup, he said no issue at all...hmm
