BMW OFFICE ON iDRIVE

Just got my 2012 SSII M3. I'm trying to setup office but it doesn't seem to be able to see text messages or email.

My question is is this possible with a Canadian car/system. I have an iPhone 4S, BMW apps.

Is there something I need to enable? On the phone? I've read the manual and it's very unspecific.

Any help would be appreciated. I've tried searching this but the search engine seems to be down.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong - I thought Office was independent of BMW Apps.

Office doesn't currently work with iOS5, but will work with the upcoming iOS6 (with or without bmw Apps) - info I learned from this thread:

When you are configuring a phone on the iDrive, press 'option' and it will bring up a bunch of options, if you click office you will see what kind of info it transfers over, emails texts etc. iPhone does NOT work but BlackBerry does (I have both so I am speaking from experience). Also, apps are independent from the office function.

Side note - it is a wicked feature if utilized correctly, the computer speaks your messages out to you, which is nice.

Sorry the the delay... that's correct, no texts or emails. Waiting for iphone5 and iOS6. There's no way around it for now, other than getting a BB.

iOS6 on the iPhone will support Email & TEXT messages via iDrive. It uses bluetooth MAP and not BMW APPS The OS will be available to the general public in the Fall.

yes! very convenient feature while stopped at lights or even driving if idrive reads the message to you
