Rpi scoops

Just looking for my first mod on my new m3 coupe.

Can somebody please give me some honest feedback on these rpi scoops if they actually make a differance to the intake performance and if it is a worth while mod im looking to fit it along with a bmc drop in filter. Is this a good first mod?

Thanks in advance.

Scoops are not a worthwhile mod .. unless you like the look..the M3's stock intake already ports from 3 locations..hood vent, center grills, driver side front bumper..adding scoops will do nothing..

I would do a drop in filter by itself

Money would be better spent:

Air filter
Underdrive Pulley
X-pipe

I wouldn't want them just for looks as I would be going for black scoops just to hide them behind the grills,if they actually make no differance then I wouldn't bother. Has someone actually got them on and actually notice the performance improvement out on the road or are most people just settling on the looks after realising it doesn't make a differance?

From the sound of things most m3 drivers think its a waste of time......

Will definitely go for the bmc drop in though.....has anyone got this filter in stock airbox system? Does it sound any different I wouldn't want it to sound much different because I really like the sound of the original induction,I only would like it to have the same type of sound but only slightly louder I would Not want it to sound like civic vti with a induction kit on. Does bmc still give that oem type of snarl in full load throttle? And does the throttle response improve at all?

Thanks in advanvce guys really appreciate the help.

Are the best underdrive pulleys from evo sport? Do they make a noticeable differance and have they got a draw back? Ie over heating etc is it a safe Reliable mod?

What happens is that any extra air being forced in goes around the filter and out the opening in the hood, following the path of least resistance. Unless Dinan and BMW are using scoops on their 4.4L versions of the S65, I would assume the stock scoops and inlet bring in plenty of air.

i like the way they look..definitely hard to "feel" but I'd say they are better than getting a "hot air" intake...

we've all spent money on "performance" mods that really are for more show than go tho...

i feel as if they "possibly" flow a little more air at high speeds... but in reality, i think they just kinda look cool... thats why i got them at least. for $90 your car can look a bit more cool. and possibly get a little more air. lol

IMO, i had an AFE stage two intake, then i swapped it for the bmc filter and scoops, and i feel as if the scoops and filter breathe a bit better. for a bill, you have nothing too lose.
