IMO video games help a bit to get to know an unknown track. So you know which kind of corners to expect at a given point of the track.

I found it useful to get to know the Nürburgring a bit, where you have blind corners, corners after bumps (even jumps if you're fast enough ). Helps to avoid bad surprises.

Oh, I didn't read through the whole website. Whoops

Maybe I can enroll for the next one! It's just that I hate simulations. You don't get a feel for the car, if the car is pulling or pushing, so you get snap over or understeer.

Also, when the car oversteers in the game the stupid steering wheels are so slow to react that it's hard to save the car by then.

But I sure will look into it

GT5 with a good wheel is pretty realistic in terms of steering feel. As RadiantM3, I use a Fanatec GT3. The steering feedback combined with visual cues allows you to easily "catch" the car when needed. You do need some practice to condition your brain to the absence of g-loadings.

A simulator is nothing compared to real life though, but it is fun nonetheless (especially to kill winter blues )

Nice! I'm trying to stay away from this stuff. The car hobby takes up enough time already.
