What to expect: MX after 10 month deployment
I will be returning to Germany later this month after 10 month deployment. Prior to leaving I did the following: full fuel tank + fuel stabalizer, car cover after a wash and hand wax at Mr. Wash in Nuremburg, drove the car up on 4 inches of foam under wach wheel, and took the battery out of the car and placed it in my house.
I made an appoinment with the BMW dealer to change the oil when I get back. What else do I need to do or would you recommend on doing when I get back? Any issues I should expect? Some of the other folks in the office said that, with the battery disconnected and nothing to receive a signal, the TPMS might be dead from trying to synch with the car *I think this is probably BS, but possible* Thanks! |

Last deployment I went on, I filled the gas tank, I put the car under a cover, slapped a battery tender on her, and put the winter rims/tires on. When I got home after 6 months, she fired right up, and I had no fuel issues, battery issues, tire or suspension issues, paint was perfect, car purred like a kitten... I think there are some folks that recommend more, but mine was fine.
