CFRA (other than being a little quick with black flags) runs great track events. 30 minute sessions, and 5 of'em!

And, met RadiantM3, M3D, etc, at the track.

As a recap, was at Thunderhill on Friday 06.15.2012 (http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=707876) and at Infineon on Saturday 06.16.2012 (http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=708333).

.
Awesome vid!

I bent a lip one one of those red berms too, last time though. I think they were added for illegal passing.

Always fun to see track videos. OC3: Nice skid corrections. I'm assuming you were running DSC full off and not MDM. What tires are you using?

Nice smooth driving. I see you pulling on your belt and readjusting yourself in your seat every so often--I'm doing the same thing. The QuickFit Pros need to get here!

Kevin's oversteer moment at 4:30 looks like it's due to some trail braking and not power-on oversteer. He passed the other car on the inside and then had to get on the brakes pronto for the turn. Was that the case?

Still, very fast...particularly from the passenger seat, in which I got dizzy.

Sorry for the poor quality of the video. The track is barely visible, but watching Ricky's hands is entertaining in and of itself.

It's always educational to see someone else's lines and inputs. I felt like I had hit a plateau for me and was stagnating at NJMP until I had a BMW CCA club racer drive me around Lightning a few times in my car--a real eye-opener.

It is hard to be the passenger, though. The only time I get nauseated on the track is when I'm riding shotgun with a fast driver. Once was with a friend of mine (the guy I have to blame for getting me into this in the first place) riding in his Z06, flying in close formation with two other Z06s at Monticello, and the other time was riding with an instructor in his race-prepped E46 M3. Luckily I didn't yack in my helmet.

Do the corner workers give you a hard time for doing this? I would think we would get black-flagged around here for purposefully drifting around every corner.

Laguna Seca looks fantastic--I'd love to do it sometime. Seeing how you need to run on the curbs and turtles all the time, though, reinforces my belief that it's really important to have high-quality, strong track wheels. Save the "beater" wheels for the street or winter and run the expensive wheels on the track.

Yeah, you're not supposed to and you do get black flagged. So I try to keep that stuff for the last few laps of the last session of the day

Lim3y and I were at lightning today (njmp) waiting for you to show us the line.
( luckily we missed all the rain as that passed north of us - we can explain rain to the California gang one of these days)

I found that if you don't time or film yourself, you can imagine that you are a great driver when you go around the track.
Yeah, I forgot to bring my camera again.

Really enjoyed the California track videos you guys put up......

Only Kevin really knows, but I suspect he was just having some fun.

As for my readjusting in my seat, it's because my t-shirt kept bunching up behind me and slightly restricting arm movement. I'm pretty sure with a harness I wouldn't slide around so much that my shirt would keep bunching up.

The previous time at LS I bent two rims on those red things inside the apex berms at T6 and T8. I just avoid getting that far inside now, particularly at 6 and 8, where there is not a whole lot of weight transfer to the outside wheels so the inside wheels are still carrying a good deal of weight at the apex.

All the time... not necessarily.

After having tracked them one time each, I would say...

(1) Laguna Seca
(2) Thunderhill
(3) Infineon/Sonoma

Infineon/Sonoma track appears to me like... it's an unfinished track. Like it's in a state of perpetual renovation.

Anyhow, I don't know if I'll go back that far up north often enough to form a different opinion later on. Like here in SoCal, I used to love Big Willow and didn't understand what all the hoopla was over Buttonwillow. But, after having gone around 10 times to each, I like Buttonwillow much more than Big Willow now.
