Price Theory.

Since MB's debut of the AMG 63 and the recent talk about Audi's RS4, I began to start thinking about pricing for the M3 again. Its speculated (unless determined already, correct me if Im wrong) that the C63 will be around 65K-68K MSRP. With Audi's RS4 being set at 66K could these two competitors of the M3 influence BMW's base MSRP pricing?

If BMW sees these other two direct competitors both around mid 60s, wouldnt they just bump the M3 to a solid 65K MSRP or at least a more competitive price closer to their rivals? Of course it would be awesome if BMW stuck with a 56K price...but i can def. see them choosing to increase because the number of people buying will still be a lot greater than the number of people deterred by a marginal increase...What are your opinions and thoughts?

If BMW decides to bump up the base price to match that of its competitors, I sure hope they bump up the hp and tq of the engine to also match.

RS4 : 420 - 66K
M3 : 412 - 60K+?????

i can totally see it above 60K if thats how the M3's competitors are doing it.

Yea thats true, i know i didnt mention torque..which BMW is lacking in.

I feel blinded by the HP race and numbers, would a lack of torque really restraint BMW's pricing that much??
