BMW M School on Nurburgring

on-line registration opened this week:
http://www.bmw.com/com/en/insights/d...g/booking.html

I took this school last year September 18-20 and combined it with the Frankfurt international auto show afterwards.
Both were awesome.
It was the last time they were using the E92 for this course and I couldn't pass that up.

You meet a lot of M3 enthusiast from all over the world,
in my driving group alone there was 2 from Japan, 3 from Russia, 1 from Brazil and 2 from the US.
I also discovered many of them have taken this course multiple times!!
In another group I also saw Mike Renner, the head instructor from the South Carolina M Performance Driving School.

It looks like they haven't raised prices compared to last year: 2.950 eur for M4 and 3.650 eur for M6.

Yes I was !!

I did the training again in 2015, they were using non ZCP F82 M4s at the time.

I came away appreciating the E92 even more, the steering feedback is a lot better and linear torque delivery is confidence inspiring.

I posted the following in the M2 forum earlier this month for this year's registration,

registration just opened today for the Porsche Nürburgring + Nordschleife Driving School on June 11-12

https://drivingexperience.porsche.co...rburgring-2017

it's a bit different than BMW's training:
- you can use your own car, or for extra, rent one from Porsche
- you can also hire a personal instructor
- 1st day on the grand-prix circuit, 2nd day on the Nordshleife

Maybe I'll be back to the Ring in July.

has anyone actually done this yet? i can't help but wonder if it would be a better experience to just rent a car, buy insurance, and romp around the 'ring yourself.

・Join BMW M Fascination Nordschleife
Good: You can keep driving on the ideal line.
Driving sections repeatedly makes you remember every corner.
You can stand and walk on the course to learn deeply how to drive at Nordschleife.
Opportunities for reverse run.
No payment for a crash if you don't make a big negligence.
Bad: No opportunities to overtake other cars.

・Drive a rent-a-car:
Good: You can drive a car on your favorite pace.
Opportunities to learn how to overtake and be overtaken.
Bad: Not easy situation if you crash a rent-a-car (big payment for the crash).

Frankly speaking, M GmbH training at Nordschleife is a bargain.
