I dont like how BMW is emphasizing the "efficiency" on the new M3.

the new C63 AMG for approx. $63000 base MSRP... what you all think

The report left me feeling lacking. I feel it was poorly written and laid out! Some good info but nothing really substantial!

Not much in this article, but I assume that has do with BMW not letting the reviewers put the car through a real performance test on the track. I wonder why they put on that limitation. After all, this is meant to be a performance product. The more informative reviews will most likely not be around for another month or two?

Oh please. And how long has it been since an M3 was an out-of-the-box track car? Was it ever, really?

And what was BMW supposed to do? Stick with the (IMO) rough, raspy, outdated 3.2 inline 6? This is a progression IMO and a great one. ///M showcases the best new technology BMW has. The car features new technologies in its engine construction, in its adjustable steering and in its adjustable suspension. That's what makes it an ///M compared to the non-///M's. Not the freakin' badge.

That's only one man's perception of the E92 M3. Now if report after report come out sounding like this, I may be in the market for something else. Who the F*** is Ben Barry anyways!! No worries fellas...soon we'll know alot more!!

I'm expecting the E92 M3 to be less "edgier" than the E46, as each progressive BMW continues to be.

The lack of torque in the lower RPM's is a real concern. C63 will kill it down low.

I am not surprised about the less edgier comment since every M3 generation appears to do this. However, perferring the sound of the 6 over the high revving V8 is a little strange and makes me wonder if the author even likes cars since the V8 sound from the new M is been praised everywhere else.

Pretty crappy article, from a lack of thought, emotion and excitement about the car as well as factually. The last point brings much of the authors opinions in to question IMO.

1. An SMG to come. Get with the program man, it'll be an M-DCT and likely an amazing optional tranny.
2. The 6MT is right out of the E46? Wrong. I've heard claims that is was designed from the ground up for the M3, because the peak torques are the same and the ratios identical my strong suspicion is that it uses the 335i box.
3. Special tires designed to understeer. LMAO. Who the heck would design and show case tires for an icon of a performance car DESIGNED to understeer. Need a big fact check here!
4. The comments about understeer and sort of numb and comfortable handling overall are in direct contrast with Steved's report.
5. Sound, yeah what JEllis said. From what we have heard and what has been reported by Steved this thing is going to sound killer. Author - get a clue.

I know it is a bit depressing of an article but take it with a grain of salt. I'd bet glowing, exciting and heck even factually correct articles are right around the corner.
