Suspension Question

Hello all,
Just introduced myself yesterday in this forum.
I wanted to ask and get a quick answer or solution as to what suspension set up to go with. I do not want to go the coilover route yet, as I feel that the oem struts and shocks do it for me, yet I would like to lower the car a bit. What springs do you all recommend that would be the BEST for this car and still retain perhaps all of its usual OEM demeanor and reliabiity, yet increases performance. I have searched the threads and seem to only come up with people flaming the OP saying that they should go with coilovers. Just looking for someone to chime in who has or has had a lowering spring system installed. I will be getting wheel spacers soon too (15, 12 mm) once I get new springs. Thoughts and recommendations, please!

KW sleeve kit (retains suspension travel and allows different ride heights)

I have the eibachs that I am really happy with but would have done the KWs had they been out at the time of my purchase

Was actually looking into this, as well. Like the fact they include everything that is needed too. Thanks for the help!

Do these lower the car 1 inch in the front, and .7 in the rear, if I read the site correctly? How does this look? Any pics that I could look at? Thanks!!

Both of these M3's pictured are absolutely gorgeous. I'm normally not a fan of aftermarket wheels and such but DAMN.

Not sure why you made this reference, but you must be one of those guys.

I did have an RSX Type S, that quite frankly would murder my m3 now, but thats a different car, different time.

If I got H&R sports or race put on, would I need some type of bump stock from a different BMW or M car?

Any issues with abnormal tire wear? Thinking about dropping my E90, but had terrible inside tire wear issues when I put H&R's on my e36 325is.

I have H&Rs. You will get some camber wear, but that's expected. Still get pretty good life out of the tire

I had a fully built K20 motor with the HKS GT2835 turbo with 17 pounds of boost, with the Greddy "Turbo Exhaust." The whole bottom end was built, literally everything. Had it on coilovers with 255/18/35 tires all around. I ran the 1/4 mile in lowish-mid 12's with considerable wheel spin. Backseat delete, trunk stripped. Maybe not "murder" the m3 in some aspects but the craziness of having almost 330 fwhp in a car that I got down to about 2300 pounds was a thrill ride. Very unsafe car in the rain as I hydroplaned it going 45 mph in a 60 mph zone with fresh tires, no traction control or DSC in the RSX's. It was gone after that (2 years 6 months of ownership).

Where can I find the E36 bump stops? Did my research and found VARIOUS part numbers that show it (tischer, real oem), but I am still not sure? If I decide to get H&R Springs or RD Springs, what are the exact part numbers for the E36 M3 Bump stops that I would need for BOTH front and Rear. Thanks so much, all!

Richard@M-World or other forum vendors (EAS, Malek, etc) should be able to help you with getting the correct e36 bump stops. Also, I think you only need front bump stops because the front has limited suspension travel (reason why you also need to shave the upper strut mount).

If you want to keep EDC then I'd seriously consider getting one of the sleeve-over kits (GC or TCK) instead of lowering springs. As others have already stated having the ability to adjust camber for street and track is a huge advantage!

Thanks for the insight! I did some more research, and I will be going with the H&R Sport Plus (RACE) springs for the car. Upon more research from EAS and Turner, it looks like I do not need the bump stops but could use them just as a precaution. The race springs drop them equally as the sport but are more firm, which could reduce the amount of travel required for it to not constantly hit the stops. I don't have EDC either.

I've read a lot of negative reviews of H&R springs on this forum...

There seems to be no answer to your original question. GC and TCK have sleeve kits, but there are only few reviews on them. I'd hate to be the guinea pig.

I'm not sure I see the added value of the KW kit since there are not Camber plates.
