Clunking sound from new car...

So I posted a thread a few weeks ago for advice on how to buy a new car and got lots of good advice. We finally bought a 2012 accord yesterday. The car drives fine etc, but at times when going over a dip or bump, there is a very obvious clunking sound coming from the back. Doesn't seem like it's from the suspension or anything, moreso from the trunk area or around the back speakers somewhere. Could it be something with trunk springs? I have no idea and gonna contact the dealership later. Just looking to see what else can be wrong. The sound is very obvious and comes and goes.

Since it's literally brand new, take it to the dealership and let them worry about it.

My STi would make a similar noise when going over bumps. My struts were bad....being that your car is brand new I doubt its that, but worth looking into it.

Check in the trunk. Loose tire jack, wheel lock nuts if you bought them may be loose back there. Lift the carpet flooring up and check if the spare tire is tightly fasten. Good luck.

I checked all of that and it seems nothing is loose. Gonna take it in this weekend to see. The sound seems to come from somewhere around the rear speakers

No I don't eat Sesame Street monsters. I was referring to the energy drink. Do they not have Monster in North Dakota, eh?

Rear control arm maybe? I had my pass side rear arm replaced maybe 5k in on my 335i..

Also, I had a Monster as well this morning for breakfast. Rojo Tea Rehab. Bacon 3 Cheese Steak sub for lunch (with grilled mushrooms and green peppers, then fresh tomato and banana peppers), and about to make dinner now. Probably go light since my lunch was heavy.

Not sure if Honda does this or any car company any more, but when they would transport cars they were block the suspension so the car did not bounce too much, they may not have remove the blocks and what you are hearing is the suspension bottoming out.

OP you might have a better chance if you ask on my8thgen or driveaccord since they have better knowledge of your car. On the other hand, I have an 09 accord sedan that clunks sometimes but I have never been able to find the problem. Since you just bought the car, why not take it into the dealer? I had multiple items replaced which reduced severity of the clunks under warranty.
