\ VF-Engineering: E9x M3 oil cooler /

The VF-Engineering E9x M3 Oil cooler is the latest solution available for the s65 engine oil system. Production manufactured by CSF for VF and utilizing the latest in technology, the VF oil cooler contains densely packed bars and plates to provide the greatest surface area for heat exchange. Complimented as well with 2 extra rows of cooling, the advantages over the factory oil cooler are more than what meets the eye when put side-to-side by your current factory cooler.

Precise, factory fitment allows for easy 1-for-1 installation. No modifications are required.

The VF M3 oil cooler is also compatible with all surrounding modifications in which the factory cooler is applicable. Whether you already have a supercharger or you are simply looking to add reliability with vastly improved oil cooling to your factory-spec M3, this oil cooler will help keep your oil temps in check in arduous conditions on the track or sitting in traffic.

The graphs below show both Engine Oil temperature and coolant temperature of the VF oil cooler vs. the factory oil cooler. The coolant temperature was used as the control during the measurement/dyno run. Reaching the same starting point with Oil Temperature was not possible because of the increased cooling (this is a good thing for real world use) Starting at the same coolant temperature assured that the same airflow was consistent through each test run.

You guys should come up with a powersteering cooler. The car desperately needs an upgrade to the crappy factory unit, and something more reasonably priced than the insanely overpriced GT4 unit.

Very nice. Lowering my oil temps is definitely something I've wanted to do after installing a crank pulley.

New or additional hardware/parts are not needed. The cooler is a direct replacement. Also, extra oil is not needed for the oil cooler. The technical advantage is the increased flow of oil through the cooler in the same amount of time.

We're pushing to do some testing and log temperatures this weekend at the track/street if our E90M is ready in time.

We have a few oil coolers left in-stock ready for install or shipping.

Does anybody else have a review of the VF oil cooler?

Also, what does this mean from the VF website: "**Note: BMW superseded the 2 oil lines on E9x M3s built around and prior to 03/08 and oil coolers require the use of the current spec BMW oil lines."

If your car is a 2008 MY and has a build date before March 2008, it may have different oil lines from the factory.
