The Spyder was the only other car I considered. Sometimes I wonder if I made the right choice even though I love my M.

Keep it. If your looking for a car not too many people have, buy a Bugatti.

So I eliminated the Boxster Spyder... It's just too small for me (I barely fit) and after much debating it's going to be only a 911 or bust.
So at the moment I'm considering a silver 996 GT3 or a super clean yellow 996 C4S I found. Aesthetically I think the C4S is the best looking and probably the best to live with, not to mention it's cheaper by $10k. But there's something special about the GT3! I only go to the track maybe 3 times a year so right now I'm leaning more towards the C4S. Yes I know these cars are downgrades from an e92 m3 but I have a 2012 audi A3 as a company car and i want a weekend car that is more involving not necessarily faster. |

agree that new boxster is a large leap forward in terms of the total package
boxster spyder is probably still going to be unique and tactile considering it's a hydraulic steering porsche

for example, if I'm going to spend 60-70k with my hard earned money. I want performance, tech, comfort, space, crash test safety, and modern look. the m3 meet all these criteria. the 996 gt3 doesn't. it is a down grade IMO. |

My point was focused more on the performance and handling and driving is a big upgrade over the e9x m3. Giving up the back seat and space are obvious in that youre moving from a luxo gt sporty car to a hardcore sports car. 996 gt3 doesnt even have abs or traction control. |

Several other track rats I know all say that the 996 gt3 has the best steering feel out of all of the gt3/rs cars. Now that doesn't make it the best of them all, but it shouldn't be lumped in with the other 996 cars.
