Extend BMW iPhone Y-Cable

Is there any way to extend the y-cable in the center console? I'd like to be able to have the phone in my lap while it is still connected.

I tried extending just the iPhone cable portion with and eBay adapter, but that didn't work

Man, I don't even use mine. I only use the white ipod cable for all iphone/ipod functions.

2011.5's use the white Apple cable, earlier 2011's use the Y cable...

I have a y-cable and mine is a 2011.75. FYI.

I forget the details but I think if you don't have iDrive you don't get the combox. No combox means you do need the y cable for listening to your iPod, even in 2011.75 cars and beyond. Sorry, but I get stuck on iDrive equipped cars as that is what I have!

Yep, i have idrive as well.
