Is it the lack of the 458's having a suberb automatic transmission mode that rips off perfect lightning fast shifts right at redline that is the problem requiring such talented drivers?

On a loosely related note that turbo Ferarri weighs only 200 lbs less then the Lamborghini. It does not appear at all from how hard it pulled on it to be making identical power. Something seems off here.

The Ferrari has 700whp(more then 800 at the crank), the Lambo has 700 hp at the crank and weights more and has AWD!

I think the reason he ment the 458 need a good driver is the same reason why I beated a E92 M3 on the higway with my STI stage 2 , if the owner don't understand that the power of these cars is really up top, he wont put it in the right gear which could make him loose the race! With these kind of high reving engines , if you want put the luck on your side you need to put the car in the high RPM range as opposite to big torque engines where the middle rpm range is good enough!

That Lamborghini looks awfully menacing! I'd like to see a bit more of the second race. Seems after the initial 458 take off, the Lambo looks like its about to start reeling him in, just my opinion. The long and short, both there cars are sick and waaaaay out of my league. Props to those who can afford either one!

Yes, start at high rmps, right gear, the most important thing is the shifting point

Disagree...
What's the purpose of a near 200 mph top speed and low 3 second 0-60 if it's not about straight line speed. I think that's the excuse given when the more expensive car loses. Cause you're not going around corners at near 200 mph speeds,(track or street). Granted, the 458 isn't -solely- about straight line speed but it's a big part of what makes a Ferrari a Ferrari.
